About Us
New Irvine Community Choir was formed in January 2013.
We are a fun and friendly mixed voice choir who sing a varied repertoire. Generally, we perform two concerts each year with potential for other smaller singing engagements and fundraisers throughout the year.
- Our Founder/Conductor is Sam Prescott.
A previous student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Sam is a classically trained singer and conductor based in Ayrshire with a focus on mostly choral conducting. Sam is also a pianist, organist, flautist and occasional composer/arranger.
He can be found in various settings from conducting choirs, to performing his own vocal and organ recitals, to piano bars, shows and beyond...
- Our Accompanist is Caroline McKinney.
A graduate from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Caroline joined us in 2015 and has helped the choir go from strength to strength ever since.
An ex secondary school music teacher, Caroline is a professional performer and soloist. Alongside this are her other creative talents in areas such as digital design and video editing which we, as a choir, are able to make great use of too.

Join Us
If you have always wanted to try singing in a choir but haven't been sure where to start, we would love to see you at our next rehearsal. Your first rehearsal is always free so there is nothing to lose.
We hope to see you soon.
Where? - Rehearsal Hall, Bourtreehill Mission Centre, Irvine, North Ayrshire, KA11 1JX
When? - Sunday, 3pm - 5pm
Who? - The choir is open to anyone from the age of 16.
Audition? - No. There is no audition necessary to join the choir. Sam is willing to do a voice assessment with you if you desire one.
What will we sing? - Our repertoire is varied so it is good to have an open mind. From traditional choral music to show-tunes and pop ballads with all sorts in between. The aim is to keep rehearsals enjoyable while working hard towards making great music together.
